I was born in Provo, Utah.

I was the eldest of ten children (3 girls, 7 boys).  I was married to my husband Charles K. Borough on February 9th, 1968.  We have six wonderful children (2 daughters, 3 sons, and one step son)

I feel most qualified to be connected to family matters.  It has been the source of my identity as a person. I have invested much in the growth of children and husband.  I wish to enjoy my children and grandchildren and continued extended family contact.  Failure in this venue would depress me greatly.

I strive to maintain an atmosphere that is open to all and provides a friendly refuge from the cares of the world.  I also like to maintain the household as a place where problems can be solved and assistance can be offered.  I'm not afraid to "roll up my sleeves".

Since the source of much of my socialization has been my church, I strive to pay forward the service that was rendered to me as a child.  The attention, encouragement, and recreation afforded me by leaders and teachers in my church has given me a sense of purpose and place to fit in.  I also enjoy the "hands on" service I can give in the community.

Working on projects that require creativity have been a way for me to refresh my spirit and give me a sense of accomplishment.  Being able to see progress in small decorating or landscaping projects is rewarding to my self-esteem...I made a difference.  I also enjoy music and theater.  It gives me pleasure to indulge in the talents of others.

Education

Refresher courses at Miramar and Grossmont Colleges

1988-1990
Attended SDSU 1973-1974
Attended BYU - Elementary Education Major 1965-1968
Experience

Secretary of Wadsworth Insurance Agency

Purchasing and Receiving - Naval Ordinance Weapons Center, Corona
Personnel Assistant - Naval Ocean Systems Center, Pt. Loma
While these positions have little bearing on what I do now, they did afford me a sense of the business world and exposed me to systems and organizations I would otherwise not have experienced.  They were the basis for comparison of other work experiences and gave me skills to enhance my contributions elsewhere.
Working with the folks at the Institute has expanded my world view. Having most of my experience in very "sheltered" or strict environments, I have most appreciated the flexibility, the appreciation of differences, and the personal approach to the wider world of business.
