The ValueCentered Medicine page is the place that we
want to use to let the public know about health care providers and programs
that address the whole person.
There are nursing programs that attend to the whole person in hospitals
throughout the country.
There are integrated health care systems that are advocates for the
patient and the family.
When illness strikes (whether attributed to the
body, the psyche, the spirit or the soul), we need advocates and we need
coordinated efforts to reestablish health.
We (here at the institute) have been studying health care and
medicine since 1968 (long before we formally established The
Institute). We know
that there are those among us who need our help and advocacy:
-
Children – any age, but especially during the earliest developmental
years.
-
Women who are hurt – all women, but some special attention to mothers.
-
The disenfranchised – our poor and sometimes our elderly.
-
Anyone who seems to have been lost in the healthcare systems.
